Christopher, an eighth-grader at Vicksburg Junior High, and students from Warren Central Junior High and Vicksburg Catholic School were competing to move into the regional competition of the Society of American Military Engineers Math Counts program.

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Zach and his mother decided to try alternative medicines in conjunction with chemotherapy in hopes that the cancer would go into remission and after two years, two rounds of chemo and many HBOT treatments their hopes came true.  Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves the breathing of pure oxygen while in a sealed chamber that has been pressurized at 1-1/2 to 3 times normal atmospheric pressure.
